Description

By developing a relationship with the natural world, students learn academic subjects such as ecology, geology, and natural history, but perhaps most importantly, their sense of wonder is deepened, leading to a lifelong appreciation for the earth that sustains all of life. By developing such a foundation during their developing years, children can grow into caring stewards of the earth as they mature toward adulthood.

Spending time outdoors and being active stimulate brain and body development and have a variety of health benefits from sleeping better to lowering blood pressure to decreasing anxiety. Practicing mindfulness and exploring the outdoors helps develop an awareness of one’s physical and mental state. Students practice communication and teamwork skills with a students of various ages and backgrounds, helping them to develop empathy.
